Thanksgiving Day is here are some of us woke up thinking about all the amazing carbs and vegetables about to send us into a food coma on the couch to watch football. Those of you that had to work or cook, we are most thankful for you. For some parts of the country you are not allowed to celebrate with your family. Some are encouraged to tattle-tail on their neighbors while others believe the more the merrier. With all the division and conflicts that have stemmed from 2020, I’m thankful for not being separated from family. Still, this Thanksgiving is very different.
From what I understand, Covid can only be spread in schools and at bars or restaurants after 10:00pm. Thankfully, Covid is not spread on the football field and we will have two games that will be as good as a Clark Griswold turkey. The Lions host the Texans at 12:30 and the Cowboys host the Washington Redskins at 4:30. These games should be a real treat if you want to see 2020 on the football field or maybe you just need a good nap.
The NFC matchup of the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Washington Redskins Football Team is equivalent to the worst possible side dish at your Thanksgiving meal. Yep, watching this matchup will be like being forced to eat a dented can of cranberry sauce with a plastic fork. Yes, the NFC East is the super spreader of mediocre professional football and Thanksgiving Day is going to be a feast for the NFC East least.
Both the Redskins and the Cowboys are 3-7 and in a three-way tie for second in the worst division in NFL history. (The Eagles lead the division 3-6-1.) The Eagles will face the Seahawks on Monday and should lose. The Giants will play the Bengals on Sunday. Basically, the winner of Thanksgiving’s Cowboys vs. Indians, could take control of the division. All four NFC East teams have schedules that predict a lot more losses, equally. Just one win could give a team under five wins a playoff game. Only in 2020 could this happen.
While Thanksgiving Day is an annual national holiday to celebrate the Pilgrims of Plymouth and Native Americans all getting along after a harvest, we know that peace didn’t last. The white man soon dominated the natives and 399 years later. Some white man said honoring Native Americans was offensive and the Cowboys won again. I personally would like to see Wednesday Addams reenactment of Thanksgiving at Camp Chippewa happen in Dallas today.
If you are betting on the game today, remember The Washington Redskins Football team has been embarrassing in prime time. Playing on Thanksgiving Day isn’t any different with a 3-8 record The Cowboys are 8-1 over the Natives on the day of peace.
