I hope the College Football Playoff selection committee steps on reindeer turds as they find out they are getting coal from Santa. Stop being politicians by acting like you care about every team when it couldn’t be more clear that you only care about the power five schools. #DefundTheCollegeFootballPlayoffCommittee
Coastal Carolina University got screwed! SCREWED!! The 11-0 Chanticleers won their division. They are conference champs. They beat two ranked teams on the road. They beat a Power five team (Kansas) from the Big 12 on the road for the second straight year, and they beat (9-3) Appalachian State who have flirted off and on with being ranked throughout the season.
They are ranked #12 in the College Football Playoff Poll, #11 in the Coaches Poll and #9 in the AP poll. ESPN even hosted College Game Day at Coastal! Explain to me how you can rank the Chanticleers in the top twelve in ALL THREE polls but the CFP committee can’t put them in a New Year Six Bowl game?!?!? Were the CFP committee members all tested for Covid19? They have clearly lost their sense of smell, taste and are suffering from blurred vision. They are going to need more than a two-shot vaccine to cure their illness of greed, lies and stupidity.
BLEEPING Politics in 2020.
Let’s break down the NY6 bowl games. The Orange Bowl is the ACC vs. Big10 or SEC or Notre Dame. The Sugar bowl is SEC vs Big12, and the Rose Bowl is for Big10 vs Pac12.
Half of the NY6 Bowl games were not even options for Coastal because of the conference ties. That left Coastal with a chance to play in the Fiesta, Cotton or the Peach Bowl which have no conference ties on paper. But now we know the CFP committee fully exposed that they want nothing to do with G5 schools (the five next best college conferences after the Power 5).
Just to make sure you’re still following along, the G5 conferences are the American Athletic Conference (American), Conference USA (C-USA), Mid-American Conference (MAC), Mountain West and the Sun Belt.
The Power Five conferences are the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), the Big10, the Big12, the Pac12, and the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
I’m too pissed about the disrespect shown to Coastal that I don’t even care that Notre Dame just got their bleeps embarrassed 34-10 to Clemson and some-how they STILL got in the playoff over Texas A&M. I’m still livid that the CFP Committee had a chance to show they know how to follow the science and that they had the dignity to make the right decisions by giving teams that EARNED the best bowl game to play in. But no, they gave the Orange Bowl to #5 (8-1) Texas A&M vs. #13 (8-3) North Carolina. UNC lost to a 5-5 UVA team. That loss should be an automatic bid to the Toilet Bowl for the Tarheels. Sorry, not sorry, Ford & Jared.
Here’s how the CFP Committee social distanced from common sense and all of their sense for the other bowl games. The Cotton Bowl went to #6 (8-2) Oklahoma vs. #7 (8-3) Florida. The Peach Bowl will be #8 (9-0) Cincinnati vs. #9 (7-2) Georgia. This game is in Atlanta; basically a home game for the Dawgs. The Fiesta Bowl went to #25 (4-2) Oregon vs. #10 (8-3) Iowa State.
I repeat: 4-2 #25 Oregon got in the Fiesta Bowl with 8-3 #10 Iowa State! WHAT A BLEEEEEEPING JOKE! The Pac-12 didn’t even want to play football. And only playing six games shouldn’t even count as a season. Please explain how Iowa State LOST to Louisiana Ragin Cajuns at home and Coastal BEAT Louisiana on the road, but a three-loss Iowa State team is more deserving than Coastal Carolina University? Get the bleep out of here! The Sun Belt was 3-0 against the Big12.
The only other FBS team in college football with an 11-0 record is #1 Alabama. Both Coastal and Alabama have the longest active win streak in the nation. Think about that! Imagine going 11-0 while beating two ranked teams, beating a power 5 team on the road and teams you beat got better bowl games. Looking at the bowl games list was like Kevin McAllister looking at the picture of his brother’s girlfriend “Buzz, your girlfriend, WOOF!”
Those jerks on the CFP Committee put Coastal in the Mortgage Cure Bowl against Liberty. That’s real cute. We were in the same conference as Liberty for years. We’ve played them 14 times since 2003. This is conference suppression 101. A NY6 game would not only have been a chance to play with the big boys, but a huge pay day. A $6.42 million payout is now only a $751,000 combined payout for each team. Funny how the rich get richer and poor get poorer on and off the field.
I feel so bad for the seniors, they deserved better than this. They’ve said all along they will play anyone, anytime, anywhere. Even in a Wendy’s parking lot. Looks like the CFP Committee was scared of the Chanticleers the most. Coastal will play in their first ever bowl game on ESPN December 26th at 12:00 in Orlando, FL. #ChantsUp
