The New York Knicks have forced a game six against the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers lead the Eastern Conference series 3-2 and the Knicks showed us they are not going down without a fight.

Knicks

The Knicks were facing elimination going into game five being down 3-1 in the series. New York needed a big game for the big apple. All-NBA guard, Jalen Brunson, and Karl-Anthony Towns rose to the occasion. Brunson scored 32 points, five rebounds, and added five assists to his series stats. KAT is dealing with a left knee issue and he was a game time decision and he still posted 24 points and 13 rebounds. Brunson and KAT are the first pair of teammates to both score 20+ buckets in each of the first five games of a conference finals since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal as Lakers in 2002 against the Sacramento Kings. With the electric offense and a huge improvement on defense, the Knicks crushed the Pacers 111-94 to force game six.

Culture

It’s no secret that New York fans are loud, proud, loaded, and reflect the culture of the five boroughs. Courtside seats in Madison Square Garden are lined with A-list celebrities and those with big apple bank accounts. On the other hand, I’m still trying to figure who the A-list celebrities are for the Pacers. Pat MacFee is not A-list and class is an adjective no one would use to describe his culture. I honestly didn’t even recognize him in a baseball hat and a shirt with sleeves. The former Colts punter has made his brand by saying some wild shit. I would have been fine if Macfee would have just called out Knicks players and let the crowd boo. However, he crossed a line when he called out New York royalty and had the crowd boo. Like, how do you boo Spike Lee? I guess respect isn’t a factor in his mid-west culture.

Game Six

The Knicks have to set the tone early in game six. Brunson and KAT have to put on a New York show and continue to slow down Pacers point guard, Tyrese Haliburton. The lifeline of ESPN, Stephen A. Smith, said what a lot of individuals in the media were not saying about Haliburton. He’s a star, but he’s not a superstar. “Superstar status is reserved for the select few and that Haliburton hasn’t quite reached that level.” Yes, Haliburton has had some impressive games with clutch shots, but one game or even one series doesn’t make you a superstar.

Game six will be Saturday at 8:00 PM EST at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. TV coverage on TNT/truTV/Max. The winner of the seven-game series will play the Oklahoma City Thunder for the NBA Championship. But first, the Knicks have to win game six!

Let’s get a win for Samantha. If you’re an OG Sex and the City fan, you’ll get that reference.
