Does this kid ever learn? Johnny Manziel spent ten weeks at a treatment facility form January to April. Mostly likely this was part of the NFL’s substance abuse program. Manziel had a track record of living the high life and flipping the bird. Sending him to a rehab facility looks good on paper, but you can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change.
It’s really no surprise that on October 12th there was a police report involving Manziel and sure enough he admitted to having had two (that really means four) drinks. His girlfriend, Colleen Crowley broke-bad on Johnny in the car causing Johnny to drive like Dale Jr. Drivers called the police.
Let’s be honest, this incident is so dumb to draw attention to the already controversial QB. I watched the police cam video and it was still daylight outside so Manziel wasn’t out all night living it up in Cleveland. (Besides watching the movie Major League, what else is there to do in Cleveland?) He sounded pretty sober when talking to the police officer, but he admitted to having a few drinks.
Bro, you just got out of a rehab facility because you couldn’t handle your fruity-pink drinks. You lost the starting QB job to Josh McCown! Most people in Manziel’s shoes would actually stay sober for the rest of the season. But then again, we are talking about Johnny-I’ll do whatever the F I wanna do-Manziel.
According to the police dash cam his girlfriend (who is way too pretty for Manziel) was hammered and threw Johnny’s wallet out of the car window after he told her he wanted to pick up one of his boys. She accused him of wanting to go meet other girls. Now this makes me laugh. Girls really want to make out with Johnny Manziel? Yuck.
Colleen is just as much of a lush as Johnny when it comes to drinking. Learning to hold your alcohol is a skill most of us learned our freshman year of college. Colleen is still in college at TCU and publicly living full throttle in the college party scene. She is in college, she is allowed to have fun and do all kinds of frowned upon activities.
But how are these two together? Besides being beauty and beast they are just a terrible fit for each other. If Johnny was serious about getting his shit together and trying to extend his professional playing career, then his girlfriend should support the sacrifices that come with that life. If that means not drinking so there is no question of a domestic altercation, then don’t drink.
Browns teammate, Paul Kurger saw Johnny pulled over and stopped. He told the cop “she’s not the right one he should be with I’ll tell you that much”.
Brown’s head coach Mike Pettine suggested that the NFL is investigating the incident. If Johnny gets in more trouble or cut from the Browns, she could cost him his career.
