I’ll admit, this loss hurt. I’ve spent the last few days trying to gather my thoughts, understand the situation, and truly own the loss. But all I can say is bleeeep you Angel Campos.
As a proud alumnus of Coastal Carolina University, I am so proud of this team. Their grit, their toughness, their ability to battle, and their confidence to play anyone made them special. Winning 26 games in a row was the longest active win streak in college baseball and made this a historic season.
Ejection
In the first inning of game two in the College World Series, CCU head coach, Kevin Schnall and first base coach Matt Schilling were both ejected. EJECTED in the first inning! Are you kidding me? We watched it happen with pure disbelief. The crowd in Charles Schwab Stadium were just as confused. How much of a weak little man do you have to be to eject two coaches in the first inning of the CWS Championship game? Taylor Swift was talking about Campos when she wrote ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’.
Angel Campos
Why are all umpires with the name Angel the worst bleeeeeping umpires? Angel Campos is not related to Angel Hernandez, but they both are terrible at their jobs. Hernandez retired from MLB last year, but the world of baseball is still suffering with Angel Campos.
Campos was an umpire in MLB from 2007-2014. He was fired for his short his temper and known for ejecting players and coaches, often without warning. Campos’s horrible calls and temperament concerns led to his short major league career. However, the NCAA made a terrible decision by allowing him to embarrass baseball at the college-level. Campos’s short temper and short stature are clearly a reflection of his short manhood.
Even the ESPN announcers were shocked by the aggressive ejection from the fragile umpire.

My Coach
After the game this was Coach Schnall’s response to the ejection.
“There’s 25,000 people there, and I vaguely hear a warning issued. As the head coach, I was an assistant for 24 years, and as an assistant, you’re almost treated like a second grade, second-level citizen and you can’t say a word. Now, as a head coach I think it is your right to get an explanation of why we got warned.
I’m 48 years old. I shouldn’t get shooed by another grown man. When I walk out to find out what the warning is, a grown man shooed me. At that point I can now hear him say, ‘It was a warning issued for arguing balls and strikes.’ At that point I said, ‘Because you missed three.’ At that point, ejected. If that warrants an ejection, I’m the first one to stand here like a man and apologize. Two words that define our program are ‘Own it.’ And what does that mean? It means you have to own everything that you do without blame, without defending yourself, without excuses.
If you guys watch the video, there was a guy that came in extremely aggressively, tripped over Campos’ foot, embarrassed in front of 25,000, immediately goes two games suspension and said, bumping the umpire. Immediately does that. There was no bump. He was embarrassed. I shouldn’t be held accountable for a grown man’s athleticism.
They’ll retract it, though, because now it’s excessive and the reason it was excessive because I was trying to say, I didn’t bump him. It is what it is. But if that warranted an ejection, man, there would be a lot of ejections. As an umpire, I feel like it’s your job to manage the game, the national championship game, with some poise, some calmness and a little bit of tolerance.”
Owning It
We own the game one loss. LSU beat CCU in game one 1-0. Tip the hat to LSU pitcher, Kade Anderson, for his complete game shutout. There’s a reason he is projected to be the number one pick in the MLB draft. With that said, CCU only allowed one run. It was a battle and we own the loss.
Now, game two is where the trajectory of a must win game was highly tampered with from an umpire that is still projecting trauma of being bullied in life. Own it, Campos. Do everyone a favor by going to therapy and staying away from baseball. I will gladly own my verbal criticisms of Angel Campos. His inability to act like a grown man on the biggest stage of college baseball will forever make him a bleeping coward. Coastal deserved better, baseball deserved better, and the CWS Championship deserved better.
LSU went on to win game two 5-3 to win their eighth CWS Championship. Both Schnall and Schilling will be suspended for the first two games of the 2026 season. Even with the loss, Teal National is so proud of this team and excited for the years to come. We own it, the teal is for real.
