Never underestimate the heart of a champion in game seven.
Golden State was down 3-1 to Oklahoma. Thunder fans were already planning their NBA Finals series.
When Oklahoma was still up 3-2 in the series, a reported as Kevin Durant if Stephen Curry’s defense was underrated as a defender. Russell Westbrook also at the press conference, covered his face and laughed when the question was asked. Keep laughing, Westbrook, keep laughing. Curry gave him the ultimate NBA dagger and drilled a 3 with 26 seconds left to give the Warriors a ten-point lead to win the series in game seven. In Steph Curry fashion, he let his emotions show and Oracle Arena went nuts.
Laughing at the MVP is like laughing at the sports gods and when you disrespect the sports gods they will make it rain- Golden State 3’s. And naturally, every Thunder storm runs out of rain and now the Thunder season is done.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked why the questions about Steph Curry’s toughness keep coming up and he said “because he looks like he’s 12 (years old)”. Now, that’s funny!
The Warriors repeat as the Western Conference Champions and will face LeBron James and the Cavaliers again in the NBA Finals. Last year, the Warriors beat the Cavs 4-2 in the NBA finals. With healthy benches, expect a high scoring series. They met twice this regular season and both times the Warriors won (221-181).
